| Yamaha Marching Percussion |
| Peeler Drum Center is
proud to have recently become a full-line dealer of Yamaha Marching and
Concert percussion. Yamaha has always been on the cutting
edge of innovation and development in musical instruments and this trend
is obvious in their marching drums. Probably more drum corps and
marching bands are using Yamaha drums and percussion today than any
other brand name. The most notable difference in Yamaha marching
drums is their use of BIRCH shells as opposed to maple. Not only
does this add a different tonality to their sound, but it also contributes
to making them lighter, with no effect on overall volume or
durability. Another new feature introduced this year are new
ultra-light cast aluminum lug casings on the bass drums and tenor
drums. The bass drum extended lugs also have an arched shape which
removes more contact area from the drum shell and eliminates even more
weight from the drum, yet they are much stronger than previously used cast
zinc lug casings. |

Shown above are the four standard
colors available for Yamaha marching drums. In addition to
the standard white and silver laminates shown at right in the photo above,
Yamaha just released their new Black, Blue and Red Forest finishes
which feature a non-covered natural wood shell with a super-deep
penetrating stain finish applied. These new colors are said to take
wear and abrasions extremely well and are not as prone to "down to
the wood" scratches as one might think. Yamaha also
offers custom hardware color upgrades as an option to the standard cast
aluminum look, including full chrome treatments as well as Black, Blue and
Red powder coating. |
| Yamaha,
in cooperation with the Randal May company, has developed their own
line of ultra-light magnesium "tube" carriers with carbon fiber
abdomen plates. These carriers are among the finest made, being
extremely light, comfortable, durable and they also have extreme
adjustability for different sized players. Yamaha also offers
other models of standard "T-bar" carriers in lower price ranges,
but for ultimate lightness and comfort there is no better option than the Yamaha/Randal
May magnesium tube carriers. |

| In addition to the new magnesium tube
carriers, Yamaha has released their new Randal May ultra-light
field and stadium stands. These stands feature one height adjustable
leg which allows them to be used on flat terrain as well as sitting
between the uneven rows of stadium bleachers. |
All the new Yamaha-May
field/stadium stands feature new quick positioning and take-off design,
but the most impressive is that of the tenor carrier which is probably the
easiest and fastest "drop-on" tenor stand every
made.
